Stirling Moss signed Lotus 18, 1:43 by Spark
The Lotus 18 was the first mid-engined car built by Lotus, a classic Chapman design, being extremely light and simple; the body was made up of lightweight panels bolted to heavily-triangulated tube frame chassis.
The most famous example was run for Stirling Moss by Rob Walker, painted in his signature blue, which a white stripe over the nose, Moss took back-to-back wins at the Monaco Grand Prix 1960 and 1961, the later by beating the new and far superior Ferrari 'Sharknose' in a race that Stirling later described as his greatest Formula 1 victory.
These superb (and now very rare) 1:43 limited edition models by Spark are packed with detail, this one includes the 1961 period correct detail of the missing side panels, removed at the request of Moss, on the grid at Monaco, in an attempt to keep him cool in the scorching heat.
Signed on the bonnet and also on the display base, this is the ultimate collectors piece and will come with a full Certificate of Authenticity that includes a photo of Stirling signing the model.
