Very rare - possibly unique - 1/8 scale RAE model, Lotus 18.
 
Many consider the 1955 Mille Miglia to be Moss’s greatest win, and of course with ‘Jenks’ at his side it was indeed a great victory. But, for many, it was his titanic struggle with the Ferrari 156 Sharknose at Monaco in 1961 that best demonstrated his peerless racing craft.
 
This model sits on a wood base (signed by Stirling), with clear cover, and is approximately 25 years old. We have never seen another finished on the Rob Walker Racing livery that Stirling raced to victory at Monaco in 1960 and 1961. These models were made in very small numbers, possibly only to order as display or museum pieces by RAE (the company still exists, making bespoke window displays), so a hand signed one is probably unique.
