The 1964 Italian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza on September 6, 1964. The 78-lap race was won by Ferrari driver John Surtees after he started from pole position, John later recalled it as one of his proudest racing achievements, achieved in front of Enzo who, unusually attending the race.
John commissioned Granham Turner to paint an original from that weekend, and unusually 20 canvas prints were made (no other print exists from the original), and each numbered canvas has been signed by Piero Ferrari and John Surtees and stretched over a 40 x 60cm (approx A2) wooden frame.
Exclusively available from The Signature Store, we have just a handful of canvas prints available of this beautiful painting, each canvas is already stretched and ready to hang, is hand signed by both Piero Ferrari - Enzo Ferrari's son, part owner and Vice Chairman of Ferrari, as well as John Surtees, the only man to win Championships on two and four wheels and Formula 1 World Champion with Ferrari in 1964.
This is a very special opportunity to acquire a rare numbered print, directly from the estate of John Surtees and with the approval of the Surtees family. Each print is numbered and will come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity which includes a photo of John signing the print.
Be quick, once gone we will never have more, as only 20 of these were ever made and less than half released onto the open market, items signed by Piero Ferrari are very rare and collectible, prints are ex-Surtees private collection, directly from the legacy of the estate.
