Very rare boxed model in 1:18 scale of the Aston Martin DBR1 as raced by Stirling Moss and Jack Fairman at Le Mans in 1959, hand signed by Stirling Moss with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Aston Martin finally achieved a coveted outright win at Le Mans in 1959, doing it with a 1-2 finish. The marque had first entered the Le Mans race in 1928, running every race since 1931 and had finished second three times and third twice before this victory. The Moss / Fairman car retired early in the evening, so Stirling spent the rest of the 24 hours interviewing the team members and watching on, he would later turn this into a book which is an intimate study of the Aston Martin works team.
This is a very rare #4 model, with a majority models carrying the #5 of the winning Shelby / Salvadori car, and was released for the 50th Anniversary of the victory in 2009, model is mint / as new condition, presented gift boxed with COAs.
